Journal entry by Michelle Humitz

Good afternoon dear family and friends,

My Ultra Sound was completed yesterday and I am taking a few minutes to write all of you a  note of thanks for your prayers.

The Ultra Sound revealed  that there are 3 spots in my right breast they believe are fat necrosis (not scar tissue as I indicated on my last entry).  I met with the Dr. of Radiology  during my visit, and according to her, there is  no need for a biopsy right now and she believes Israel this fall is definitely a possibility!!

The results of the Ultra Sound are not necessisariy bad news, but yesterday I was having a challenging time mulling this information over.  There are probably more scans over time and  I wasn't mentally prepared for the fact that "this will be,  the rest of my life  thing."

I should have known all this after our journey with our son, Chad,  but walking that journey with someone else,  even if it is your child,  is different when it's your own body. Sometimes I  need to let  information resonate for a bit, before accepting and moving forward.  Over the last 9 months there have been multiple stumbling blocks that have been presented to me, mostly from medical professionals.  In my eyes originally, they are the doctors, nurses etc. that should have more knowledge than me, but in some cases there are "next step" decisions and they present options and look to me for my answer.  As our sweet daughter, Danielle, who is a nurse,  told me, they are presenting the information to you based on their expertise but the decisions are mine to make as it's MY body.

Thanks for walking this journey with me.  I lost a sweet friend recently, who had just retired at the end of May,  She was actually one of the  first people that I called after being diagnosed and she walked with me through some of my initial decisions.  Please lift a prayer for Tricia and her family. She will be missed by many.

Remember to live life to the fullest and embrace each day.  None of us know when our last day on earth will be.

My "Jesus Calling" devotional seems to hit things on the head and today's reading starts with , "Trust Me, and don't be afraid", and the Bible quote that I have turned to often on this journey continues to hold true,

"Don't be afraid, for I am  with you.  Don't be discouraged, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." - Isaiah 41:10
