As each week passes it seems Mike fails a little more than the previous week.  He enjoys his friends at Brookdale where he resides as the staff keep the days filled with fun and exciting things to do.  Harley, his cat, was able to move in with Mike and they are faithful  companions to each other.  So he's not alone day or night.  I visit with him just about every day..there are very few days I miss.  
During my daily conversation with the medical staff they made suggestions regarding his having visitors for a full or half day.. they suggested that visitors not plan on staying all day.  Stopping in spending about 15 to 30 minutes is about all he can mentally and physically handle.
