Journal entry by Riley Wierman

Michael Vincent Wierman, age 25, died peacefully in his home on July 5th, 2022, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born on January 23rd, 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Tim and Karin Wierman. He had many passions. He made long-lasting friends on the rooftop of UW-TKE and was grateful for his Kiera’s Club friends. He lovingly volunteered with Camp Kesem UW-Madison where he cared for and adored his campers and fellow counselors. Michael spent many hours raising countless dollars for St. Jude Children’s Hospital as well as the Jimmy V Foundation. He was a proud Rocket and Badger, earning degrees from South Milwaukee High School and University of Wisconsin Madison. Michael loved sports and was a walking statistician.

Michael cared deeply for his wavy flowing locks, his incredible sense of fashion (name brand only), and fancy cologne collection. Michael was kind, loving and compassionate. He was selfless and courageous, always standing up for the little guy. Mike was fiercely loyal and a warrior for others. He never hesitated to compliment the people he loved. Michael loved his people so deeply and so well. He was a steadfast ally and always made everyone feel important.
Survived by the love of his life, Madeline Jo Petre, his parents Karin (Ludka) Wierman and Timothy Wierman, his sisters Samantha (Dan Stassi) Wierman, Riley (Adrienne) Wierman, grandparents David and Suzanne Ludka, Marilyn Klopp-Filar, his beloved nephews Theo and Owen, as well as many friends and family. Michael embodied the phrase, “don’t give up, don’t ever give up” and he would want you all to continue living that way in his honor.
