As a cancer patient, the one thing you can do, it to know when you're not feeling well and to take your temperature.  For a person with cancer, a temp of 100.4 is an ER visit.  Tonight, not only did Mike get to go to St. Luke's ER, he is getting a transfer to Mayo.

Mike's surgery last week was to re-connect the left ureter to the stoma.  It went well, but Mike is now having pain and has a 'hard' spot in his abdomen.  As the ER doc said in a very matter-of-fact way: Mayo put it there, they have to fix it - not in an unkind way, but in the way that Mayo knows what they're doing and they'll know how to proceed.  Because of the risk for complications, Mike will have a 'luxury' ambulance ride from Duluth to Rochester Sunday.

Obviously, this is not something we anticipated, but we are very happy with the doctors at St. Luke's who saw the problem and knew the best place for repair/correction, was back at Mayo.

As you might imagine, this is a tough blow for Mike.  We've been very fortunate to have made a lot of forward progress in the last two years.  Set backs are inevitable, but when they happen, it is difficult.  We have every confidence in the doctors, both at St. Luke's and at Mayo.

It is after midnight on Friday night/Saturday morning, and most of you won't see this for a while.  Please pray for a safe trip and a successful procedure and recovery.

Easter morning is hours away, as Christians we will celebrate and be grateful for all He has given to us and His sacrifice of His only Son.

Allelujah!
