Michael lost control of the motorized long board he was on and hit his head.  He has a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain.  He is currently at HCMC receiving the best care possible.

Journal entry by Sandy Olson

Michael had his first visit to the doctor since being released from the hospital and it was all good news.  As we went into today I and others were warning Michael not to get his hopes up - he was really wanting to drive and return to work.  First meeting the doctor was really interesting because he (the doctor) was so impressed that Michael was answering all the questions himself.  He said that normally with the degree of traumatic brain injury that was on paper he wouldn't have expected that.  Michael was able to answer all the questions, then he did some cognitive tests like math in your head (things that I even had trouble with), say a string of numbers backwards, what were the first 3 words that I mentioned when we started, etc.  Michael got everything correct.  SO - he didn't see any reason to recommend therapy and took ALL restrictions away.  Which means Michael can move back in with friends, drive and begin to go back to work.  WOW!  There are a few things - like no motorized long boards or ATV's for 3 months - but otherwise he is good to go.  All the praise goes to God and the many of you that have kept Michael in your prayers.  Thank you, thank you!  My dad always talks about how blessed our family is and I have to agree but I have never felt as blessed as in this last month.
