Meredith’s Story

Site created on November 18, 2023

So the back story is in that first post.  However, thank you for being a part of my village.  Your prayers are felt and your love is appreciated.  Please help keep things positive and upbeat.  I will post updates personally and will have a couple of friends, who will help share how you can help in this journey.

Journal entry by Meredith L

Yesterday was 6 months of being in this “Journey with God”.  Or 6 months ago this cancer thing got started, either way… I find my self asking how did it go so fast.
And answering “God!!!”

So, when you tell me you were praying for me, and I answer “I know, I felt them…”. It’s true, your prayers are what kept me going one step at a time hitting each bench mark.

From discovery to final post chemo feeling better was 2 days shy of 6 months!!! Thank you, God.

Today my hips hurt, my calves burn, and I don’t wanna climb another hill.  We went camping this weekend and Saturday I hiked 5 miles total.  (Two hikes one in the morning one in the afternoon!)  a year ago one would have had me completely exhausted… yay to a chance to do better and be healthier!

Friday, I had the opportunity to be silly and goofy and step back to early middle school for me, while dancing to McHammer’s Can’t touch this at the High school talent show with some very talented teachers.  They had lots of time to rehearse, me not so much.  I did not want to commit to it and then not be able to because of Gertrude.  BUT GOD!!! I don’t have a pic of our ridiculous outfits, but if you ask I might send you a video!

Next week I start the gambit of therapies to help with moving forward from chemo, physical, occupational, pelvic floor, and possibly speech.  This is to help me continue home exercise program and be able to function normally cognitively.

Thank you once again to all of my chefs, my Tuesday walking buddy- Carman, my cheerleaders, my accountability buddy, and … I could go on… You all with God have made this journey easy!!
