Melissa’s Story

Site created on December 5, 2018

On the night of December 2,  Melissa was driving home from a project in west Florida when another vehicle hit her head on. Melissa and her unborn baby (11 weeks) survived the crash. The other driver and 2 month old passenger unfortunately did not survive. Melissa was flown to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition in the ICU. She has fractures in her left femur and left forearm along with small fractures in her vertebrae and pelvis. On Tuesday Dec 4th, Melissa underwent surgery to fix the femur and forearm. Both surgeries were successful, however they discovered  her forearm was broken significantly more than initially thought. She may need additional surgery after the baby is born to correct any additional fractures in the bone. Ryan has been by her side the entire time and has been such an incredible advocate for Melissa! He and Melissa are doing well considering the situation. They appreciate all of the prayers, texts,  and calls. Please note: Melissa and Ryan may not be able to respond to calls, texts, and messages right now as they deal with appointments, meetings, and all the logistics that come with a situation like this. They ask for patience and understanding regarding their inability to frequently communicate with everyone as they normally would.
