Journal entry by Melanie Inabinet

Good Afternoon!

It has been a while since my last post. I have been extremely busy with work and am grateful for that. Your continued unwavering support has also been a blessing to me.

Since my last post, I have had several more appointments with my plastic surgeon, which means several more fills in my expanders. As of the last appointment, he told me we are almost at the end of my every three week appointments and heading for reconstructive surgery. I will know more at my next appointment. When I go to the reconstructive stage, I do not know yet if that means I get my new implants as well as tattoos or if the tattooing will be at a later date. These are few of the questions even I have. I will be sure to share with you.

Back in August many of you know I had a photo shoot to document my journey. I have shared a few of these photos on social media, but not all. I am grateful to Jennifer Druelle Photographics for the amazing job on she did on my hair and makeup, as well as her wonderful eye and talent in capturing all I wanted to. This session is one of two. I will be doing another one after all of my surgeries are complete. My hopes for these photographs are not only for my own self awareness, but to encourage anyone going through similar circumstances to look at themselves as the wonderful person they are. Outward appearances are only temporary. It is how you carry yourself and know how you can overcome anything if you just keep your chin up. I will share a few of these photos in this post.

October is fast approaching! October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I hope all of you ladies and men will schedule your mammograms and any other tests that are needed to keep you healthy and to pin point problems as early as possible.  During October, please be sure to also support Grumpy's Sports Pub as Randy Eblen hosts the "Beer for Boobs" fundraiser for local charities. He will have tshirts and other specials during that month. I will post more as soon as he posts the particulars on the event so you can plan to participate.

I cannot say thank you enough to the many people who continue to pray and show support to me during this whole journey. My hope is you all are blessed for all the kindness and love you have shown me over the past 5 months.

With Love,
Melanie
