Journal entry by Meghan Jones —
Chemo is going well. Nine treatments are completed, seven more to go. I am getting progressively more tired as expected. Overall, it remains much more tolerable than the previous stuff.
Hair drama: My scalp hair is growing; I can see fuzzy sprouts! 🥹 And I shaved my legs last week! Lol
The chemo is making my eyelashes and brows fall out, I can see 2 stable lashes on my right eye 😂 I have the typical cancer patient look. Pale, bald, tired, bare; looking in the mirror makes me sad to be fully honest 🤷🏻♀️ thank goodness for hats, wigs, blush, bronzer, gloss, fake lashes, and liner 😂 It’s funny that I used to spend money on removing the hair from my body and now I spend a lot more on glueing and securing hair onto my body! If I can’t laugh, I can’t cope with this crazy train.
Liver drama: My enzymes are still higher than normal from the Taxol. I had a full dose on Friday. We’re going week by week and will adjust the dose as needed. I’m not having abdominal pain but I am anticipating it 😬
I celebrated my 45th birthday on Saturday with my family. Hudson took me to play chess and drink coffee to start the day, we went to the school play with my mom, and then we met up with the Johnston’s for dinner together.
Praise: I feel good! The tumor has shrunk significantly😌
Plan: 7 more weeks of Taxol.
Prayer Request: Please pray that my liver would tolerate the Taxol, pray for my providers to make good decisions for my care, and pray for the nurses to be vigilant and to communicate well.
