Gregory Michael McCarthy

Gregory Michael McCarthy, age 49, of Madison Lake, died on December 3, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester surrounded by loved ones. With Greg’s kindness and humor, he touched all of his nurses, patient care assistants, and doctors. The care he received was nothing but outstanding.

Visitation will be held at Marysburg Church from 9-11 on Saturday, December 9, 2023. A funeral service and luncheon will follow. Additionally per Greg’s wishes a celebration of life will be held at Westwood Marina in Kasota on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. where he enjoyed spending many hours and time with friends around the bar. Everyone is welcome to help celebrate Greg’s life with his family!

Greg was born on September 29, 1974, in Mankato to Michael and Geralyn (Dauk) McCarthy. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1993. On August 5, 2000, Greg was united in marriage to Bridgett Busch in Mankato. Greg farmed for many years and then recently obtained his real estate license in 2021. Greg enjoyed camping, scuba diving, watching movies, and spending time with his two daughters. Through his battle with cancer, he remained positive, brave, and still knew how to make a room laugh with his witty comebacks and endless supply of jokes.

Greg is survived by his wife, Bridgett; daughters, Mariah and Kyra; father, Mike; sister, Diane McCarthy (Chris Barnett); great-aunt, Joanne Stangler; and cousin, Margaret Duffey. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother, Grace McCarthy and countless other beloved family members and friends.
