Newest Update

Journal entry by Jenna Hoffman

I wanted to take a moment to update everyone. Dad has been successfully transferred to his new room at the Hospice House, which is basically a part of the hospital’s campus. Ironically, my mom had spent time here previously with her mother. She finds comfort in that. As well, he’s in much better hands here - as will my mom be - to ensure both of their comfort through the days ahead.

Tate departed this morning after being away from his girls for a week. He’s been a huge help and ended his stay by snagging some Twins vs Yankees Spring Training tickets for when he and the girls come back in March. That will be a special trip.

I find comfort knowing that my mom has her siblings there with her. Melissa and Diane have been there since Wednesday, and Mike, her brother, arrives in today.

Further, dad’s sisters Lindy, Cindy and Patti have also been there to talk and reminisce with dad. It sounds like they’re going to give him a nice shave today. Dad never liked any stubble!

We believe he feels the presence of those that surround him. That he hears the voices that have called him to talk to him in his ear. Thank you Pam for being his morning chat. I know he hears you.

Thank you for your continued love and support. Please pray for his comfort, as well, for my mom. This is an unimaginable time for her and I’m so proud of her strength and in awe of her love for him.
