Sitting up here at the old u of m.. waited in line with the old man to get his blood draw and then took my normal seat while waiting. Obviously we frequent this place, like a lot, and the one nice thing is I always seem to make friends with usually random old men. People talk to me, they open up, they tell me stories- again in the most random circumstances and places, but it’s so heartwarming and a nice reminder that not all people suck. Anyway, today this man came over to me and expressed how much he loved that I was holding Matt’s hand while we waited. He said affection is so important and we don’t see it anymore. He was also a spouse and it just felt good for a minute to connect with a stranger who is in your club.
Then on to doctor visit. I’m not comfortable sharing news that isn’t great. I love sharing the good stuff. I’m not sure if we made it known, but Matt’s lesions on his lung have increased in size. Dr. Krauss is again wanting to be aggressive which is great, but hard for Matt. He’s throwing back in some meds that don’t have the nicest side effects but we need to attack. Todays chemo will reflect that immediately. I’m very hopeful. He also said after four rounds and another CT scan if we do not have progress we will look at some experimental trials. Every patient is different, so we will look for success one route or another. We trust science and will use it but we also know the power of prayer. We ask you pray. ♥️ Not just for him but for all these folks in this overcrowded infusion waiting room. Seems to be more busy every visit, sadly. Don’t let this be a downer, I just needed to share. We are so excited for Christmas and spending quality time with our family and friends.
