More Updates:

Matt is doing well and living life. We are all staying busy - yesterday, we headed to Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend.

I want to send updates on my dad, as he had surgery this past week. He has had a history of Melanoma, and this time it required surgery for two areas that needed wide excisions – his scalp and lower back. He has skin grafts from his abdomen and left neck lymph nodes excised for further evaluation. Thoroughly worked up preoperatively with a PET scan, brain MRI, echocardiogram, EKG, H&P, and labs, and I am sure I am missing something. Everything appears to be clear.

The pathology report for the lymph nodes is still pending. Bernie is doing great and not experiencing any pain. He informed the care team at UC that his daughter is a “bossy nurse” and “tells me what to do.” The day after surgery, he was on the computer paying bills and wanting to load wood in his fireplace. I did beg and plead for him to stay off the roof and tractor for a couple of days (lots of sarcasm there). Please keep the well wishes coming. Both Matt and Bernie are enjoying the visitors, as I know they both get restless in the house.

Bernie: Total Hip is scheduled for December 23!

Stay warm, and have a wonderful weekend!

Hang in there – when things get tough, you may FEEL you’re on YOUR own, but I’M HERE for you, and you’re NOT alone.  TRY to hang in there and take things day by day.  Anytime you need me, I’ll be with you all the way.

Hugs,

Missy
