Matt was discharged HOME on Wednesday!
We ate dinner as a family at OUR dining room table and it was wonderful.
From Matt’s Facebook post last night:
28 days…
28 long days, some days positive, some days negative. Some days more challenging than the next.
28 days away from home, away from Amy and the kids… away from normal life, away from my UNFI crew, away from my freight friends and family….
It’s been a long road… happy to say I am finally back HOME!
Thank you to every single Doctor, every short staffed Nurse, every Nursing Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, that helped me along the way. I am forever grateful for you.
Thank you to everyone who brought meals, donated, helped Amy and the kids. I cannot thank you enough.
Above all else thank you to Amy! She held the house together, kept the kids on track with school and dance, all while supporting me, driving back and forth to Abbott when she would visit, over an hour each way. I’m pretty sure I owe her a spa weekend and hotel getaway once I’m more independent again 😁
Still a ways to go with follow up care and some in home care but that’s ok!
