Journal entry by Sara Jensen —
It’s been a week and I’m still living in a headspace that feels like this isn’t real. Trying to navigate all the things that need to be done, our kids and myself has been overwhelming to say the least. Day by day right?
We donated Matt’s body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program, they will use his body for the medical school and for research. If they can learn anything from this and help one person, it will be a great thing. They will cremate him when they are done and it can take up to 18 months to receive his remains.
At this time we’ve decided to just have a Celebration of Life for Matt. It will be at the Crow River Golf Club on May 4th here in Hutchinson from 1-4. Matt loved being at home, the cabin on Lake Minnibelle and the golf course. He loved it there and I hope we see all of you. I look forward to hearing everyone’s stories, meeting the people he loved that I haven’t had the opportunity to meet yet, laughing, crying and sharing a gin martini(Matt’s favorite) with you all❤️
I’m working on an invite to share but thought I’d share here first. I fully understand everyone has very busy lives and might not live close by and are unable to attend. The support from everyone has been so heartfelt and the kids and myself appreciate every single one of you.
Love Sara
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Matt's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
