Matthew’s Story

Site created on October 26, 2022

Matt was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer on September 29th after getting a lower abdomen CT scan. The cancer it self has metastasized on the center of his pancreas and  it has unfortunately spread to his liver, and peritoneal cavity. As a family obviously this was devastating news and now we are trying to support him in any way possible. He started Chemotherapy on October 27th and hopefully this will slow the cancer down and bring down Matt's pain. We have hope everyday that one more prayer might fight off this awful disease and we would welcome your prayers as well.

Journal entry by Mary Smith

Hello friends and family. Our family would like to first say thank you to everyone who has helped us through this hard week. Losing my dad is going to change our lives forever, but we want to honor him November 22nd at 1pm, for all wonderful years he was with us and the many ways he touched our lives. The rosary will be at 12:30 and the mass at 1:00 pm. Reception will follow the mass in the parish hall. Location is at St. Francis church in Sherwood.

With love,
The Smith Family
