It has been a week since Matt’s surgery and, while we would love to report that he is well on his way to recovery I am afraid we are experiencing a setback. He had a great post-op visit on Tuesday and was cleared to move ahead with exercise and dietary restrictions lifted, but by Tuesday night was experiencing a resurgence of throat pain and difficulty swallowing (even liquids) that has continued to worsen. We are reaching out to his health care team today to better understand his options, as he cannot sustain this pace of weight loss and lack of nutrition for much longer. His spirit remains high.
