Newest Update

Journal entry by Nicole Amundson

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delayed update. Matt is doing well and tolerating his medication as best he can. The medication did improve his vision almost instantly but it does make him pretty sleepy, sensitive to light, and sometimes gives him pretty bad headaches. He was able to return to work after a few weeks once he started the medication. However, Matt did have some repeat blood tests and scans late October to determine whether it is working or not and we are so, so, SO happy to report that it is working so far! His tumor is shrinking and his prolactin levels are decreasing!!! YAYYY! They did increase his medication dose and he will continue to be monitored for further improvement. The doctors did determine that he will have some permanent vision loss in his right eye due to the tumor causing too much pressure on his optic nerve, which in turn killed off part of that nerve :(
Despite that, this is an AMAZING outcome and we are so thankful that this is how it went.

Matt did also finish closing on his house late last month!
