17 years ago, Mary started experiencing really bad migraines. The doctors discovered a small tumor on the left side of the brain. Doctors did not it was necessary to operate on and they called the tumor benign. 6 years ago, Mary started having a numb sensation to the right side of the body. Doctors ran several test and determine that if she eliminated gluten that the right side of the body no longer went numb. January 2023, Mary started having “episode” at night.  The “episode” started to happen more frequently and started happening during at all hours of the day. Mary has been to the primary doctor, ENT, neurologist who in turn referred her to a neurosurgeon. The neurologist who sent her for an EEG and an MRI, On 4/11/2023, the doctor found a 3cm by 3.5 cm tumor on the left side of the Mary’s brain. The neurologist referred Mary to a neurosurgeon immediately. Had the tumor been on the right side of the brain the neurologist would have done emergency surgery. The doctors have determined the episodes she is having are seizures. Mary has swelling in her brain and needs the tumor removed. She has been unable to work the last few weeks do to the seizure. On 4/26/2023, Mary will see the neurosurgeon and the team to discuss surgery. If everything goes well with neurosurgeon on Wednesday there is a possibility for surgery Thursday 4/27/2023.

To Everyone,

Mary is home from the hospital recovering. She currently has a bleed in her brain where the tumor has been removed. This is on the left side of her brain which is effecting her right side. The bleed should correct itself and should correct the numbness on her right side.
