In light of Mary's steady weight loss this fall, our primary physician, Dr. Jayme Van Beek, ordered an MRI, a chest X-ray and a CT Scan to find out what was going on, what could be causing this loss. I'm still hearing his voice in the call to report on what those sophisticated "looks" revealed. It was news that no one wants to hear. The CT scan of Mary's abdomen revealed a "thickening" area in the upper region of her colon which looked suspiciously like cancer! A colonoscopy and biopsy by our Gastroenterologist of choice, Dr. Ahsan Bhatti, confirmed our fears.
We met in consult with Dr. Steven Bell early in November and got on his surgery calendar for a December 5th, 2022 surgery. Look to the journal here in CaringBridge for the rest of the story and continuous updates by Doug or Andy when they are able. And don't be afraid to call Doug or Andy or Chris
