Newest Update

Journal entry by Mary Vigdor

I finally have the results for recent scans of brain and lungs.  The news is pretty good.  There are just two tiny nodules in the right lung that will be monitored and zapped, as needed.  I have one fewer brain met than last time and that also will be zapped by Dr. Landis at Swedish ASAP.  All in all, I feel very lucky to be feeling good and still climbing hills and 8 flights of stairs to my apartment (when not carrying heavy groceries).  I last wrote just a week after Yehuda's passing.  At times I still get teary-eyed but am doing better at remembering and being thankful for the amazing times we had together starting in January 2013.  We met online and "clicked" on the phone and never stopped talking.  Our trips were wonderful with the last one being to Tucson in January 2023.  I am sure wherever he is it is with good, interesting people.  Our holidays were almost back to normal -- 2019 was the last time we were together for them.  Steve's wife, Beata, could not be with us as her mother was in her final illness in Warsaw.  Steve and stepdaughter, Pauline, did a very good approximation of the traditional Polish feast. Pictured below is a trip Alex and Fiona sponsored to the Space Needle (my first time there) and also a photo taken during Arya's visit from Spain over the holidays. I have continued in the St. Joe's centering prayer group (below is photo of the 4 Mary's in the group) and a group of Cursillistas.  Scrabble continues on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Today our beloved cook, Jane, gave me a sack of her incredible turkey meatballs (photo below) on her last day with us.  I could not be there (brain MRI) last week and she knew I was disappointed in not having what was my favorite lunch.  Yesterday I celebrated Easter with Jake's whole family.  A year ago I was in Milwaukee with Yehuda for Passover and Easter.  So many good memories that include a lot of you.  I want to wish everyone a wonderful spring and summer.  I will probably do updates after each scan -- thank you for all the prayers that have kept me sailing along in fine fashion (kine hora).
