We’re halfway there!!
On Tuesday I received my 6th chemo treatment, and I have 6 left. At the beginning of this journey, those numbers sounded so daunting, and now we’re here and I’m ok. I am blessed with how my body is responding… the numbers show it, my scans show it, and even though the chemo makes me weak, I am stronger than I ever knew I could be.
This round of chemo they gave me my premedication which included steroids and Benadryl, and then halfway through my chemo they gave me another dose of Benadryl and it did the trick! No allergic reactions this time. At the very end I had some chest tightness but after keeping me for 20 minutes of observation, they let me go and I was fine! The couple days that followed were sleepy days. My port was flushed out Thursday, and so far we’ve been able to stay ahead of the nausea with medicine.
Part of the blessing of this horrible disease is that it connects you to people. It connects you to others’ sufferings and others stories. Thank you to all of you who have shared your stories and allowed me to pray for you.
I will continue to pray for your intentions, and hope you continue to pray for me and my family as well.
Thank you for all the meals, cards, kind messages, help with our kids, prayers, and the constant stream of support. 🤍
love, Mary
