Hi, all, 

I wanted to let everyone know that Mary will be having a biopsy on her new kidney this Friday. The procedure is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and will require an overnight in the hospital (from an abundance of caution to reduce bleeding risk).

The doctors have assured us not to be too worried. Her creatinine is just not where it should ideally be--the numbers aren't bad, they just think they could be better. Thr biopsy will help us check for any possible infection or early signs of rejection. If it is rejection, 90% of the time that is treatable/ reversible (hope I'm remembering that right!).

Mary is, of course, taking the news like a champ. She had some special plans for Friday night that now have to be canceled, but she understands and is taking all this in stride.
