But I choose to think of this day as the the end of a season, a day of rest, and then the beginning of a new season. A season where the sunlight gets longer each day. The sun gets warmer. The earth slowly wakes up to reveal His greatest glory of nature. It’s only fitting that this is the day that Mary is called home to live in God’s glory forever. Her new journey in heaven begins and it only gets better and better.
I want to thank all of you that have followed Mary’s journey for the last 20 months. The words of encouragement and the prayers lifted served as a source of strength and inspiration to both of us. While we were always hopeful for a miracle, we knew from day one that the the odds were long and ultimately is was in God’s hands. As this horrible disease progressed, Mary always had a sense of peace knowing that her ultimate destination was the glory of heaven. She is at peace now, in a better place, free of pain.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14: 1 - 3
