Journal entry by Mary Durie —
I visited MD Anderson last week. They had not yet received the biopsy slides so Vicki and I left with no additional information. However, they called today to say the Sarcoma Team met regarding my case this afternoon. After getting the pathology report prepared by their doctors, they feel confident the mass is not a sarcoma! This is great news. But, we kind of already knew that.
They are suggesting I see a rheumatologist to discuss treatment plans for the inflammation.
While I'm happy this isn't a cancer, I'm still in pain and have swelling in my left leg. If left alone, the fibrous tissue could still impinge on the artery into my left leg. And, I still have the stent in the ureter that requires replacement every 3-4 months. I also still have pain, and often find it difficult to sleep due to not being able to find a comfortable position when prone.
I appreciate all the love and support each of you are sending!
Hugs, M
