Journal entry by Christine Jarosz

"....no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him..." 1 Corinthians 2:9

Last night, January 3, Mary peacefully took her last breath on this earth and entered into the presence of the Lord. While we are left with shattered hearts, we cannot begin to grasp the peace we feel knowing she is celebrating her new life and new body, fully healed and healthy with Christ.

The verse above has been on Mary's home screen on her phone for quite some time. If you were privileged enough to know Mary, you know this was the reflection of her heart long before this day had come. Mary's eternal perspective was visible in all she did, all she said, and all she prayed. Before she even left the hospital, she had ordered a picture called "First Day in Heaven" (pictured below) and claimed it as her theme for the coming days. We know this has been her focus long before her final breath, but having this picture in our minds brings such joy. As we contemplate the mystery of heaven, that "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared" we can rest knowing that such joy is ours as well through the precious gift of Christ.

Again, we cannot begin to thank everyone for the prayers, visits, calls, and gestures shown to Mary and her family in the past 3.5 years. It brings us to tears knowing Mary was loved so well and she was just as special to everyone that was honored to know her as much as she was to us.
