Mary Ann & Dick’s Story

Welcome to our Caring Bridge website.  We have created it to keep friends & family updated about our Mom’s journey. Please leave your messages here, we will be sure she sees them.
In December, 2021, Mom was diagnosed with Non-small cell lung cancer/Adenocarcinoma. Fortunately, she was eligible for targeted therapy, which is an oral chemo tailored  for this specific type of cancer.  She has responded reasonably well. We’ve had some ups and downs over the past few months and in April a diagnosis of  Multiple Myeloma was added to the mix. During the past week or so Mom has has some pretty severe symptoms from the myeloma: nausea, deep body pain and extreme exhaustion. We are working with her Cancer Care Team to address these new symptoms and to make Mom as comfortable as possible.

Our family (all 129 of us) is working hard to support Mom and Dad as they travel this new road. Their love for each other has never been more obvious or more beautiful. They love visits, phone calls, texts, old fashioned snail mail and prayers!  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Celebrating Mom and Dad

On Monday we celebrated a life well lived, a woman of faith and strength and courage. We are overwhelmed by your kindness and love. There have been so many moving tributes and stories about our Mom and Dad and we cherish them all.   

Whether you attended Mass or the visitation or sent flowers, a card or a text or shared a story and a hug, Thank You from all 131 of us.
