MaryAnne’s Story

Site created on January 26, 2022

MaryAnne was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2010, which lead to a double mastectomy. In 2014, she was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor that was surgically removed. She was deemed cancer free until 2021, when scans showed the pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor had metastasized to the liver. This is considered a rare cancer that typically doesn’t respond well to treatment, however, MaryAnne has been navigating various medical options that may have the potential to slow the growth.

MaryAnne is a very strong, faithful woman, and we created this website so family and friends who have been endlessly praying can all be updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers, and words of encouragement. MaryAnne is a warrior and continues to fight as we continue to pray for a miracle.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Krista Marshik

Another quick update with some good news sprinkled in there! MaryAnne had another PET scan conducted and the results indicated that the tumors appear to be stable. Again, this means no significant changes in size - decrease or increase. While the tumors are still present, it’s huge that they have not changed in size. That’s two PET scans in a row!! Woot Woot! We are beyond grateful for life and time. Both are so precious! She will continue to receive the monthly injections and repeat a PET scan in 4 months.

It has been quite the journey, and still is, but it wouldn’t be possible without all the love, support, and prayers from all of you. We are excited to be able to enjoy the summer shenanigans and all the good vibes! The swing is back up in the backyard (thanks to Jim! - that swing was a B*TCH to put together). Anyway, take a stroll on over sometime to enjoy it with us! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
