I’m writing a tiny update even though it doesn’t include much. Today has probably been one of my best days since surgery. Yesterday I got my IV out of my neck and wrist and now have only one left in my right hand. I had been kept on oxygen because I was in the 80’s when I would wake up from naps and such. They’ve also kept an eye on my blood pressure. The first night it was pretty high and they gave me medicine in my IV to get it lowered. So now it’s been on the low side but only something to keep an eye on but nothing alarming. They made sure to put my pain medication on a schedule that will help me be ahead of the pain. So that has worked well today because I struggled a lot yesterday with pain. I thought today I would be told when I would get to go home but the doctor who was on  rotation did not mention a thing. I’m okay with that considering I was told I could be here for up to a week. I just need to be patient. I have attached some photos of my incision. Look at your own risk due to them not being pretty. There is swelling at the top of the incision that has left a big bump. I was told that it is perfectly normal and that everything looks okay. I still have lidocaine patches on my chest and over the spot where my drain was (I got that removed too)! I’ve made okay progress. Please pray for my patience with myself. I can be difficult to deal with and my support system has not been lacking in support. Pray that Karen is okay while she goes through tough schedule changes. Pray that I heal properly. It’s so important that my sternum heals properly. I appreciate all the continued support from everyone.
