Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As some of you know, my dad has been suffering from Alzheimer’s for many years. We were plugging along with our new normal, dealing with this terrible disease when things went down hill very quickly this week. He has been unresponsive since early Tuesday morning. We are keeping him comfortable with meds prescribed by hospice and await the inevitable.  

This quick decline, while a little startling for us initially, really isn’t a big surprise. If you know my dad, you know that he was full of life, incredibly witty,  fit as a fiddle—a go big or go home kind of guy. I think he is now going home. Forget the dragging this out any longer nonsense. He’s done and wants us to carry on. As sad as it is to lose him, I am thankful he will soon be at peace.

Dad went peacefully tonight. Even though we knew it was coming, it is still heartbreaking to lose him. Thank you all for your lovely memories and condolences.
