Martie’s Story

Hello all - 
 
We have been so fortunate to have ‘bonus’ time with Mom since her leukemia diagnosis in May 2020. What a gift! Unfortunately, remission ended in early December and she resumed chemo. We learned today that the chemo is not working and Mom will no longer have treatment for cancer. She is not in pain, but very tired. Her doctor indicated that the fatigue will increase and she will likely sleep more and more until one day, she will not wake up. We can only hope she will pass so peacefully. She will remain at The Waters with Dad where hospice care will begin soon. Mom is relieved and is at peace with this. She is grateful for such a full life that includes so many wonderful experiences, friends and family. Thank you for all your prayers, thoughts and support.
