Marshall has been busted out of the hospital and we are heading home. Overall, his night went very well. His oxygen level dipped again while he slept and he was in some pain and with nausea. They gave him meds and of course he handled the night like a champ. He was so sweet, while he was coming to he just kept asking the sweetest questions, thanked us and then nodded off again.
Due to the fluid and the oxygen levels, as well as the eventual direction he is headed, he has been referred for hospice care. They will just help him stay out of the hospital as much a possible. His doctor did say she anticipates the fluid could be back in a matter of weeks. Not what anyone wants to hear, but the honest truth. Each procedure brings more risk and we will obviously have discussions as symptoms return.
