Marshall’s Story

Site created on April 26, 2024

Marshall had colon cancer surgery with Dr. Sahir Shroff with Surgical Oncology on April 16th to remove a cancerous tumor in his colon. The surgery was successful, but the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes.

Marshall and Cindy met with the oncologist, Dr. Mike Andrews, at Northwest Georgia Oncology on April 29th and were informed he has stage three cancer, but it is treatable with a high success rate. The cancer is in fourteen lymph nodes and wasn't caught early or late.  It is not spreading to the other organs now.

Dr. Andrews will meet with the doctors and surgeons at Northwest Georgia Oncology to discuss Marshall's case.  They will decide if he needs radiation, but he will have twelve chemotherapy sessions over six months.  He will be having a port for chemotherapy installed May 1st and his first chemo session will be in two to three weeks.

Marshall feels well and comes into the office every day. He walks regularly and keeps up his routine.

Please limit the calls and texts to Marshall and Cindy, as they are taking this time to focus on his treatment.

We appreciate your support, prayers, words of hope, and encouragement.

Marshall had his first three-hour chemo session on May 14th. He was sent home with a chemo pump that he will wear for two days. He goes back in two weeks for the same treatments for a total of eight treatments. July 2nd, they will start radiation and chemo.

Marshall has been coming into the office and walking 20 minutes each day. He feels okay but tired. He would like everyone to know that he and Cindy are very positive and appreciate all the prayers and support.
