Journal entry by Shannon Scott

Hello Friends and Family that have been following Mark's journal entries...
I'm sad to add to this journal today that my Dad has lost his battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. He passed away on Sunday morning 3/20/22 at the age of 67.  He ended up in the ER on Friday due to shortness of breath, they noted a small spot of pneumonia on his lung x-ray..held him for a few hours, loaded him up with steroids thru iv's, and sent him home. Due to covid, they don't even want to hospitalize anyone unless they are really bad. So with that being said, they sent him home. Mom said he had a pretty good day on Saturday, but late in the evening he struggled to breath again and in the end, he passed away Sunday morning, in his two favorite places, at the farm, and in mom's arms. Not many can have that ending in this life...We are so thankful for the extra time that God allowed us to have with him. My dad worked so hard for us his whole life and sadly didn't get to enjoy his early retirement, as he battled this disease for the last 4 1/2 yrs.
My dad was a very private man, those who knew him, would say how sweet and kind hearted he was, he was incredibly funny, he could tell the best stories, and really enjoyed what he did for a living and all the friends he made working pipeline and road construction for almost 40 yrs. He enjoyed his grandkids, Dawson & Megan so much, they had dune buggies and dirt bikes to ride and have fun on at the farm, Dad loved it. Dad's favorite thing was cruising in the side x side with mom and the dog, especially during these last few years...Dad was a man that could do anything, build homes, fix cars, tractors, he could do it all.
I will leave you all with this today.. hold your loved ones a little tighter and a little longer..life can be so short. Thank you all for following Dad's journey and your kind donations in the past.
Blessed be the memory of Mark Andrew Polley..
