Mark had his 3 month, after stem cell transplant, appointment at Mayo Clinic on Friday, March 17.
This is part of Dr. Baudi's report.
Mark has had a very nice response to autologous stem cell transplant . CT-PET scan shows significant improvement. Immunoglobulin free light chain and quantitative immunoglobulins are unremarkable. His bone marrow biopsy results are still pending . I have explained to him that if he has achieved a complete hematologic response, I will not recommend any maintenance therapy. Plan then will be to continue to monitor him every 3 months.
However , if I am concerned about the depth of response from the bone marrow biopsy and VEGF level, then we would recommend a low dose chemo, as maintenance.
We couldn’t be happier. The ‘numbers’ aren’t completely back to normal but they are headed in the right direction and looking really good after 3 months.
We are praising God for the healing that has taken place. If you are reading this, you were one of our prayer warriors and we are grateful.
We are continuing to pray for complete healing.
