Justin’s Story

Site created on February 16, 2023

Thank you for visiting! Justin has always been an artist, from a young boy in elementary school he knew art was where his passion was. After his dad's potato farm sold in 2000, Justin knew his future was in art and business.  Fast forward to getting an art teaching job in the Unified School District of Antigo, his alma mater.  Justin worked his way up to high school art teacher where he does everything he can to help every student that crosses his path.  In 2022, Justin met the professional mosaic mural artist that he knew our broken community needed, and from there he led the launch of the Antigo Legacy Mosaic Mural Project.

In the summer of 2022, Justin had his first heart attack at the age of 47.  Then in December of 2022,  he started having bad chest pains anytime his heart rate went up.  A second heart catheterization came and the doctor made him stay in the hospital.  After 6 days of waiting for the blood thinner to exit his body, Justin had open heart triple bypass surgery.  Now  he is off of teaching for 6-8 weeks without pay.  Justin is an active father, and since his kids live  over 3 hours away, he has used up all of his personal and sick time.  Financial support is needed in order for Justin to heal and get back to being a father and teacher.
