Maggie (Mags)’s Story

Site created on March 20, 2020

Welcome to my Caring Bridge!  I have been experiencing some physical problems in the last few months, starting with breast cancer and double mastectomy and leading to a very aggressive stage 4 lung cancer.  This spread to my liver and pelvic bone within two and half months.  My prognosis is poor, and estimated three months to live.  However, I have no pain and am feeling quite well at the present moment.  What I have learned so far is that as I am dying I am learning to LIVE quite happily.  I invite anyone who would like to leave me messages, memories, poems, words of wisdom, and uplifting spiritual sayings that will feed my soul.  My gratitude to all knows no end.  One of my favorite quotes is " If it's not one thing, it's your mother!"  So don't forget the humor.

Marjorie Jean Ersted (Maggie/Mags), lost her battle with cancer on June 22, 2020 at the age of 69.  She passed away peacefully and consciously at her home in Alexandria, MN surrounded by her family.  Although we are sad she is gone, we are grateful she is free and will continue to be a light in many people’s lives.  There will be a Celebration of Life on July 10, 2020 from 4-8 pm at The Legacy of the Lakes Gardens at 205 3rd Ave W. in Alexandria MN.  The service will be held in the gardens at 5:30 and food will be served indoors. To protect the health and safety of all, please wear your mask and social distance. If you are unable to attend and wish to send condolences, please mail to Erin Ersted at PO Box 83 Hoffman, MN 56339.

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes over these last few months. Mags truly appreciated each and every one of them. You all held a special place in her heart.
