Marion’s Story

Site created on January 1, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at approximately, 6:50 pm, Marion suffered a stroke while at home. Thankfully, she had a date with her hubby to watch a movie together. Gary, expecting to be called when the movie was about to start, was alarmed to hear moaning instead. He found Marion and called 911. Within 15 minutes, Emergency Services had arrived and were rendering care. They made a quick trip to Hutchinson Medical Center, where a scan, an evaluation & video conference call was placed? A Medevac Helicopter was ordered and she was airlifted to the St. Cloud Hospital Stoke Center where a successful 2 hour surgery was performed to remove the clot. By 11 pm, Marion was resting in ICU, where family gathered to pray and comfort each other. I am attempting to give daily updates in the "Journal" section of this Caring Bridge site. Thanks south for your prayers and support!!!

Journal entry by Gary Graham

Marion tested the new shower and was greatly impressed i.e. she loves it. Then she made herself some Oatmeal with Raisins. That was the first time in three months and was going crazy over that. last night she boiled the water for some sea food. I am trying to help her with words to replace "computer, church, etc" like shoes, and water, but even that gets frustrating. Her speech is improving daily at a faster rate it seems. She has a dentist appointment this afternoon. It is good to have her home.
