Margie’s Story

Site created on August 31, 2019

Dear Ones,

After 5 years of treatment for my bladder cancer, I am heeding the good messages of my bladder as it  sends more cancerous tumors.  I will have my bladder taken out on September 4th.

I'm grateful for the service of my bladder and other, soon to be removed, body parts.  My precious body. I am also grieving the loss of my bladder. Experiencing many emotions as I prepare for the surgery.

Noticing what carries me through this adventure. Truly, the love and support of you, my friends and family. I know I am rocked in love's embrace and the truth of my connection to that which holds us all.

All love,
Margie

Journal entry by Margie Bartelt

Great news arrived yesterday.
I am grateful that no chemotherapy or radiation recommended. Only CT scans. i’ m cancer free. Time to celebrate. 🎉

Yesterday at the Women’s Cancer And Resource Center in Berkeley, we talked about independence and independence. Mostly, we are taught to be independent by our families and culture. We separate ourself and become self sufficient.
Gratefully, I have learned the value of interdependence. Asking and receiving kindness, love and support with your presence in my life is a gift.
My heart stirs and is open to the pouring of your gifts. We are not separate in Our journey  and this precious life.
I bow to you in love and friendship.
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
