Margaret’s Story

Site created on January 6, 2023

Days after our glorious wedding in late November,  I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. This disease doesn't care about honeymoon plans. My doctors are very optimistic that we'll beat this, but it's going to be a long 2023. Journal entry by Margaret Justus

Dear family and friends,

I am feeling so much better than I have in nine months.

Last  month I had four separate doctors tell me  I am currently NED - no evidence of disease.

To keep the cancer in remission, I will complete 14 rounds of Kadcyla (aka - TDM1/ chemo lite) every three weeks through next spring.

Eight more rounds to go.😅

Since  I wrapped up TCHP/ tough chemo, surgery and radiation, we’ve been enjoying some travel including hiking, cycling, lots of live music and spending time with dear friends and family.

Thank you for your steadfast love and concern.

Abrazos,

Margaret and John
