Welcome to Margaret’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportMargaret is feeling well! She moved home after Cate was born and is happy to be back with her family. Of course, she is exhausted and sleep deprived (like most new moms) with a preterm newborn who has been nursing every 2-3.5 hours. Tiny, adorable Cate is gaining weight to the pediatrician’s satisfaction. The siblings think Cate is “sooo cute” and have adapted nicely to having a new clan member.
Margaret had daily doctor’s appointments through last week. This week, she only had two appointments. Yay!! There are several medical tests and appointments pending which we anticipate will be uneventful. She’ll continue with anticoagulant injections daily until the hematologist gives his ok to quit them - likely for another week. She feels “normal” and since running a household and taking care of four kids is plenty of “therapy”, she has discontinued OT and speech therapy. The neurologist agrees with this decision and feels she will be 100% soon.
Although we’ve been dealing with this crazy event for almost 2 months, overall Margaret’s recovery has been good. Life is returning to a “normal” crazy! We are so grateful for that. We are also thankful for all the friends and family who have shared their love and prayed and even asked their support groups to pray. Much love to each of you!
I’m going to backtrack a bit now to mention a joyous event that occurred while Margaret was in ICU. Margaret’s cousin, Molly, gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the very same hospital. Family members simply road the elevator a few floors down to welcome our little guy into the world. Never a dull moment! Max is exactly 2 weeks older than Cate - cousins and friends for life. He’s “sooo cute”, too!
