Margaret’s Story

Site created on August 29, 2021

Hello everyone!

As you all know by now, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in July 2021. This news was absolutely heartbreaking to our family. But as you all know already, she is a warrior. She has been battling Parkinson's disease for a few years now and she is doing it with nothing but grace.

There have been many waiting periods so far, biopsies, tests, phone calls, surgery dates, etc.

We'll do our very best to keep you all up to date on my mom's journey.

And on behalf of my Mom, Dad, sister, and myself... we'd like to thank you all for your continued love and support. It's truly amazing to see how many people my (AMAZING) mom has touched over the years.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Maria Honigman

Hello all!!

I hope this winter has treated you all well. It's been a while since we've updated on Mom.

She finished her radiation treatments right before Christmas and has been having a smooth recovery in that sense so far.

In other news, in January (in true Margaret fashion) she fell on some ice and hurt her knee. She has been working on healing though it's been a long and slow process. She has a brace that she wears only when needed. She is still having trouble getting in and out of the car and reports that she has not driven since this incident, but I think she's getting close.

As if that's not enough, she found a cancerous mole on her forehead that she's since had MOSTLY removed, she will go in again to have the rest removed. Her doctor is very optimistic that there will be no more issues with that area.

BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!!!

She has been having problems with pain in her hip and found that it is due to arthritis. Thankfully it is not bone on bone issues but still quite painful. She is taking a higher dose of tylenol to manage her pain and has been instructed to do so for as long as it's working.

I think I covered everything. My mom has proven time and time again that she is a warrior and still remains positive despite all the curveballs being thrown at her. She is hoping to return to golfing this year so to all of her golfing friends, watch out she is coming back with a vengance!

Thank you again for all of your continued love and support. We are all incredibly grateful to have you supporting my mom.
