Marc ’s Story

Site created on January 8, 2021

Welcome to Marc’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Marc was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) shortly before his 50th birthday. Known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He has fought a hard battle and is now in the end stages of ALS.

When Marc started to lose his ability to communicate, Father Brandon suggested that we document some of Marc’s words that he wanted to share with his friends and family. We would like to share some of Marc’s thoughts and words of wisdom with all of you.

“ALS is not a bad thing. It has taken away the everyday distractions and has allowed me to focus on most importantly faith and family.”

“God is good!”

“If people would feel just the smallest bit of what I feel, they would want more...want to give everything to Jesus.”

“I want all of my friends to know that I am at peace. “

“It is okay to be sad, but don’t be mad.”

“My goal is to leave this earth with no enemies.”

“Even though I am a broken body, I am a thousand times stronger than I was 5 months ago.”

“God is using me in a good way, and I wanted something good to come from this.”

“I have no need for TV because there is beauty in the sound of silence.”

“I heard that it is easier to pull an elephant through an eye of a needle than it is to get into Heaven....so you better have your ducks in a row.”

“I wish that everyone could have just an inkling of what I’m experiencing.” And —-My ALS is a gift.

“I am more of a person now, than the last time you saw me, and it is flipping amazing.”

“It is not me. It is the Holy Spirit.”
