Marco’s Story

Site created on July 1, 2021

Marco is on the road to recovery but there are still operations and therapy he’ll need for some time to return to 100%. His vertebrae are broken in 3 places and he’ll need surgery to place rods in his back, his ankle was broken and he had surgery on his talus bone including screws and plates, and he will need surgery for a torn ACL and MCL in his knee. His sternum was fractured and it bruised his lung and heart. He lucky to be alive and we’re praying everyday for a speedy recovery. We will keep everyone updated as Marco progresses to a full recovery.

Journal entry by Jay Rubik

It’s been a long weekend and so good to be back home. Marco is improving everyday and he’s had a lot of visitors. Barbara and I are finally getting caught up a little on sleep. Thanks to everyone who came over to visit.

Marco will need the walker to get around and still has a lot of soreness in his foot and back. He said his breathing is easier and his knee feels a lot better although still not 100%. We have an appointment on Wednesday at CU Medical and will know what his PT sessions will look like then.

He was so happy to hear Nobles voice today and said he can’t wait to see him back in Colorado this coming weekend. As we do everyday, we’re sending our prayers to Noble and his family.
