Journal entry by Mandy Edge —
As 2023 comes to a close, its crazy to sit and reflect on the year. While we expected our cancer journey to be a closed chapter in January, just a few months later we discovered it returned with aggression as a Stage 4 metastatic diagnosis. I quickly learned Google to be an unwise source to try to understand medically what was happening, but I knew enough to know...it would be a God-sized miracle to fight and win the new battle.
And nine months later, we can sit in gratitude and awe that our God is still fighting the battle. My body is weak, but God is so faithful to provide me with just what I need each day to live in His purpose. My soul is discouraged at times, but God is so quick to whisper that all isn't lost and he sees my grief and heartache. My life as a 33 year old wife and mom looks drastically different than I would have planned, but that doesn't make it any less sweet.
We had the sweetest holidays with our families and created memories I hope last a lifetime for Justice.
Next week, Jeff and I travel back to Houston for a follow up at MD Anderson. We had great results from our last trip, we continue to pray for the God-sized miracle for no cancer, no tumor, and that He would receive every bit of glory and honor for healing my body.
In 2022, I stood on God's promises that while my body and health may fail, He was my hope and portion forever.
Psalms 73:26 NLT
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
In 2023, we looked forward with God-sized confidence actively fighting fear with scripture and worship.
Philippians 1:6 NLT
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
In 2024, I pray I reflect one of my favorite portions of scripture and find joy in laughter in every moment.
I'm grateful to be here at the end of 2023 and to reflect on the goodness of our great God through the heartache, the pain, the discomfort, and the uncertainty this year brought.
He is faithful.
He is strong.
He is with us.
He is good.
With Him leading the way, bring on 2024.

Proverbs 31:25-26 NLT
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
