Journal entry by Lexi Herzog

With a very very heavy heart, Maksin gained his angel wings on 3/4/20 at 746 pm surrounded by family. Maksin was truly a fighter to the very last second, he learned that from his mama. Maksin was a beautiful soul, one of the most beautiful souls I had ever met, and it was an honor to know him. Maksin was always so kind-hearted, loving, so so smart, and eager to learn, he was so spunky. He also gave the best hugs. I was once told that Maksin touched someone's soul and how wonderful of a child he was. That couldn't be more true. Maksin touched the souls and made an impact on each and every person he met. He truly was so wonderful. He has will continue his journey now in peace with his Great Grandpa Keith in heaven. Maksin the day before was able to be baptized and the pastor was able to come see him and the family. Kane brown also sent a video to him with a message. This last month and throughout Maksins journey, we have seen such remarkable support and love. More than ever imagined possible. We know he truly appreciated it as does his family. We thank you all for the love support and prayers. Please keep in mind donations for GoFundMe Courtney has not been able to work during this time or during his treatments and no mother should have to worry about expenses of burying her child. We thank you all so much for everything. Maksin was a remarkable little boy and will continue to live on forever in peace with Keith and other great grandparents in heaven.
