Makayla’s Story

Miss Makayla is a beautiful, bright, spunky, loving 11-year old. Her contagious smile lights up her entire face.  She has such a kind spirit and is like a little mother to her younger siblings Mason, Lily and Molly and also watches out for her older brother Cyrus. She brings so much joy not only to her mom Kara and dad John but to everyone around her, especially her grandparents. A few months ago she began to not feel her spunky self and her lymph nodes on her neck were swollen so off to the doctor she went. They have been doctoring for about 2 months and she has been treated for low iron, anemia, and a blood infection. Throughout this process, her hemoglobin has been dropping.  They finally did an x-ray at her last appointment on Friday, April 26th,. Once they did the x-ray they found a baseball size mass on Makayla's right side, above her lung.  She was sent to Children's Hosptial in Minneapolis for a biopsy and to figure out the plan of attack.  Makayla is the daughter of Kara (Gabrelcik) Kammermeier and John Kammermeier and the granddaughter of Kevon and Kim Gabrelcik and Terry and Krystal Bauer.

CANCER FREE!!!!

Yes you read the title right and I am screaming it :)  Miss Mikayla got the news today that she is cancer free! Hallelujah!
