Newest Update

Journal entry by Alianna Davis

3½ month (from surgery) update:
Today Major had a follow-up MRI. Since it was a long procedure, he had to have general anesthesia. He did amazing with the procedure, and we went right across the street immediately after to have an appointment with his neurosurgeon, Dr Sandberg, to go over the results. Dr Sandberg said that his MRI looks perfect, and that he will only need yearly check-up visits from now on! He also said that Major will likely not have any more issues in his life related to the Chiari Malformation, and that he is allowed and cleared for any activity that a typical 5-year-old might participate. He said, treat him like a normal 5-year-old!
Major is currently going to speech therapy, but it is for his mild speech delay and not for swallowing. He is doing great in his Pre-K class at school, and is doing great all around! However, I think we may need to bubble wrap him, because a little over a week ago he flipped his chair at school over backwards and he split his head open on a metal door jam! The doctor glued it up, no stitches, thankfully!

This will probably be our last update on here, unless something else comes up. Today we are praising God for complete healing of our baby boy!
