Newest Update

Journal entry by Jacklyn Brobeck

So his feeding tube didnt get to come out last update like we were hoping for. He had a rough weekend after that and we are back on lasix but still working on feeds and to come home. As of right now game plan is to hopefully get home home by end of week or start of following week. So fingers crossed it all flows right and he is home by end of month.
He will be heading home on lasix which is something they never do but feel he and us are capable of managing along with his oxygen and we will follow up with his BPD team to manage him from home.
We are working on full feeds still since we got all the excess fluid off with his lasix. We are almost there. We were hoping it would be out today but he had sort of a rough night so it will be in til at least tomorrow. Once it comes out they will watch him for 72 hours to make sure he is eating and gaining weight appropriately before we can head home.
Tonight he gets his SAT test to make sure his oxygen is where it needs to be to head home. If that goes well we will do our car seat test. Then mama and dada have a few classes to take this week.
The end is so near and we are so excited, hopeful, nervous yet so unbelievably happy.
Keep praying this week goes well and he can get his feeds under control.
