Maggie’s Story

Site created on October 5, 2022

On September 30th, 2022, Maggie had a seizure and was diagnosed with a brain tumor in her frontal lobe. She had surgery to remove this 7 cm tumor on 10/13/22 and has recovered well at home. She will need radiation (to be completed at Mayo Clinic) and oral chemotherapy and well as frequent MRIs in the future. We’ll use this website to keep you all updated.

Newest Update

Great news update:
I finished my last chemotherapy back in July. (I took it for 5 days every month for 6 months after radiation ended back in January.)
Today I had my MRI scan and follow up with my neuro/oncologist. My scan showed great recovery from surgery and radiation. No issues or concerns so I’ll have my next MRI in 3 months (December) and if all looks good then I’ll get to wait 4 months between scans. My labs are back to normal too- hooray for no more lab draws every 2 weeks.
Summer flew by quickly and the kids are back to school. Cheers to a great school year with more normalcy for our family. We could have not made it through this past year without our family, friends, school/church families and neighbors! Your continued love, prayers and support were so appreciated every day! May God bless you richly! ❤️🙏🏼🌟
